Sealing and Expungements

Sealing and Expungements

Having criminal charges or convictions on your record can impact your future in many ways, such as by making it more difficult to get a job, qualify for housing, or accomplish other goals. Sealing and expunging of criminal records can eliminate these negative consequences, allowing you to move forward more easily.

The Law Offices of Anabelle Dias has substantial experience with sealing and expungements. If you are interested in this type of relief, we can help you explore your options.

About Sealing and Expungements

Sealing and expungements are not available in every case. The state of Florida allows only one expungement per person, and you must not have had any prior criminal convictions in order to qualify. In addition, only certain types of charges can be sealed or expunged. Our office can help you determine whether you meet the state’s requirements.

Florida law with regard to sealing and expungements changes on a regular basis. In fact, some charges that were once eligible to be sealed are no longer eligible today because of changes passed by the state legislature. Because more changes could happen at any time, we recommend pursuing this option sooner rather than later to give yourself the best chance of success.
